According to the UnivDatos, rising demand for food security, government support for sustainable agriculture, declining soil health, and increased awareness among farmers about nutrient-use efficiency and water conservation drive the India-controlled release fertilizer market. As per their “India Controlled Release Fertilizer Market” report, the Indian Market was valued at USD 51.45 million in 2024, growing at a CAGR of about 7.00% during the forecast period from 2025 - 2033 to reach USD million by 2033.

Indian agriculture industry is gradually transforming due to the demands of attaining better yields, resource conservation, and quality of soil. At the centre of this change is the rising use of controlled-release fertilizers (CRFs), which deliver more effective and long-lasting nutrients to crops than their traditional counterparts. As far as the availability of these specific fertilizers is concerned, the Indian government has been actively encouraging sustainable practices through the PM-PRANAM initiative, and therefore, such products would be in high demand.
