Why Has Wired Impact Wrench Not Disappeared?
A wired impact wrench is still used in many workshops and industrial environments even as cordless tools become more common. The expectation that battery-powered tools would fully replace corded versions has not fully materialized because different working conditions continue to support different tool types.
Work environment is one of the main reasons a wired impact wrench remains in use. In fixed workstations where power outlets are always available, users do not need to rely on batteries. In these settings, corded tools can operate continuously without waiting for recharging, which is useful for repetitive or long-duration tasks.
Power consistency is another factor. A wired impact wrench draws stable electrical power from the outlet, which allows it to maintain consistent torque output during extended operation. For certain maintenance and assembly tasks, this steady performance is preferred over battery-based systems that may gradually lose charge.
However, cordless impact wrenches have become more common due to improved battery technology. Modern lithium-ion systems allow greater mobility, which is important in environments such as roadside repair, construction sites, and field service work. In these situations, a wired impact wrench may be less practical due to cable management and limited access to power sources.
Despite this shift, corded tools remain practical in controlled environments. Many repair shops and production lines still use a wired impact wrench because the workspace layout supports fixed-position operation. In such cases, there is no strong requirement to switch to cordless alternatives.
The market is therefore not defined by replacement but by coexistence. A wired impact wrench continues to serve users who prioritize stable power supply and continuous operation, while cordless tools address mobility-focused applications.
